Senior Software Developer at Commercetools

By means of an extensive e-commerce API, existing corporate processes and technologies are connected flexibly. For our Durham based tech office, we are looking for a talented Software Developer who’s supporting our Technical Director in our new tech hub in downtown Durham, NC.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work together with our Technical Director North America on projects in different areas with focus on full-stack development

  • Independent handling of special IT projects

  • Assuring support our US customers and partners together with your growing team

  • Support the Technical Director and our German Systems Engineers/DevOps team with admin and ops tasks (such as deployment automation, working on accounts, CDN, security, logs, etc.)

  • Help to organize and conduct technical trainings to our partners

  • Support in the architecture and estimation process for new projects

  • Support for technical pre-sales meetings

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Finished degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering or comparable education

  • At least five years of practical full-time work experience in a similar role

  • Knowledge of common programming languages (imperative and functional, preferred in Java, JavaScript/ES6)

  • Must have Linux and cloud computing experience

  • Fast learner with a quick perception who’s willing to get an understanding for our e-commerce platform

  • Enthusiastic to dive deeper into the DevOps world

  • Outstanding problem-solving ability as well as very good analytical skills

  • High hands-on mentality

  • Aspiration to constantly improve yourself and learn new technologies and concepts

  • Team player with good communication skills, high reliability and a good dose of pragmatism

  • Authorized to work for any US employer

  • Availability ASAP
